If you want to explore, you might try to visit the shops and markets at Leh, but it is advisable to stay away from high points or altitudes because it could make you sick. Activities: Either rest or since the last ATMs will be found at Leh, therefore, you should draw out enough cash for the rest of your trip which might come in handy.

On this day, officially, the adventure starts, with you heading towards Sham Valley on the Leh-Srinagar Highway. The beauty of the drive cannot be described in words. For those who are into muscle bikes, they can do the tour with Royal Enfields. Otherwise, those who are not into motorbiking can take SUVs for the ride.
The first stop for the day will be the world-famous Hall of Fame which has been established to honour the Indian heroes - the martyrs of the Indo-Pak War.
The next stops will be at Kali Mata Mandir and Spituk Gompa. These 11th-century religious structures are reminiscent of the architectural styles of those periods.
The next stop in your journey will be Gurudwara Patthar Sahib - which was constructed by the llamas to honor Guru Nanak - the founder of the Sikh Faith, who visited the place in 1517.
The Magnetic Hill is one of the wonders that will be on your trail next. It is 30 km from Leh and has a sign which says ‘The Phenomenon that Defies Gravity’. It is basically not where gravity gives up but is an incredible optical illusion which creates that effect.
Nature will reveal itself at its very best at the next stop where you will find the Indus River meeting the Zanskar. The confluence of these two rivers marks the world’s highest river rafting point and could be in your checklist if you are an adventure enthusiast who gets an adrenaline rush at the name of this sport.
The greenish hue of the Indus merges with the fluorescent blue of the Zanskar and urges every white-water rafting enthusiast to gather all their courage and dive into a thrilling experience. The white-water rafting starts from Chilling and ends at Nimmo - covering a distance of nearly 30 km between a series of 3rd and 4th grade rapids.
Rafting could be physically and mentally exhausting, so heading for lunch at Leh could be the best option post enjoying the water sport.
The evening is reserved for visiting the Leh Palace. It commands a rich history. It was built by Sengge Namgyal on the Tsemo Hill, to be later abandoned in the 19th century. The palace is still full of jewellery, ornaments, and ceremonial crowns that are on display. Just behind the palace lies the Tsemo Gompa, founded by king Tashi Namgyal in 1430. The monastery offers rich views of the Leh city along with its surroundings.
The journey continues towards more peace and harmony as you visit the Shanti Stupa - a white-domed Buddhist monument built in 1991 by the Japanese Buddhists to promote peace and remember the Buddhist culture. After this, you can call it a day and take a rest at your Leh accommodation.

You might have been exhausted by the number of activities done on day 2 itself during your adventure. That is why the itinerary has been adjusted to contain day 3 as one with quite floaty and insubstantial activities. The trekkers in the team will be able to flex their trekking muscles as there is a short 4 km trek from Leh to the picturesque village of Saboo. The non-trekkers can reach Saboo village via SUVs.
Despite being quite close to Leh, Saboo is a quaint village in the laps of nature that offers complete solitude while overlooking the Indus. Saboo village is the model village for the entire district and is being reconstructed under the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Program.
The trek to the village can be either started before or after having lunch. The trail wades through the famous polo grounds after you start from the main bazaar and then climb uphill to find two short mountains. After crossing the two small mountains, you will suddenly be exposed to the enormity as well as splendor of the Stok Kangri peak. You will also find the Indus River at the bottom. It is best to camp in the village for the night.
Activities: Trekking from Leh to Saboo and overnight camping at Saboo village.

For cyclists, this day is filled with thrill as they get to hop on their bike and ride through a stretch of 30 kms through the most scenic locations until they take their first stop at Sindhughat - at the banks of the Indus river, near the Shey Village. Sometimes the scenic landscapes are coupled with challenging terrain which makes the ride all the more fun!.
The Shey village is located 15 km from Leh. It used to be the summer capital of Ladakh, and therefore has the Shey monastery and the Shey palace built under Deldan Namgyal’s instructions in 1655. Although most of the Shey monastery is in ruins, the 39-feet Shakyamuni Buddha statue - estimated to be the second largest Buddha Statue in the region, still stands in the compounds.
The Shey village also houses the 2009 blockbuster movie ‘3-Idiots’ famous character Rancho’s school. Druk Padma Karpo school is that Himalayan Buddhist school that was featured in the movie and had a vital backstory.
Start the evening by indulging in fun activities like archery and other local sports. Explore the village, interact with the locals, and learn about their unique culture and heritage, and finally, you can end the night by making barbecue under the sky.

Are you ready to live your adventure…….to take the plunge?” We were gearing up for the gruelling climb to the summit of a 20,000+ ft peak in the Himalayas and this question kept reverberating in my mind as we commenced our hike at midnight. It was the full moon and night of a lunar eclipse, as we crossed the glacier and started the steep ascent towards the summit ridge, I was panting and my mind was getting blurred ....”can you do it after so many years?” On the ridge the body had given up, it was only the mind and we kept chugging up and ahead, roped up and in unison. On the summit we took the plunge and Reccy was born.
We were all young adventurers in college - doing mountaineering, hiking, rock climbing, skydiving, scuba diving, paragliding, skiing - and then got busy with our professions….. with pharma research, in the Air Force, designing and erecting steel plants, developing software, in investment banking and private equity….and then we came back together to indulge in our passion again. But planning an adventure trip can be arduous, we struggled with these questions everytime we wanted to go out of our comfort zones again.
Hence our mission is to make it easier to search, compare, plan and book the best adventures worldwide…...so that we get inspired to Cross the Line.
