If you are someone who loves to explore ethnic cultures and subcultures, this is the region you were looking for - There are more than 26 major tribes amongst these tribes, the Adi tribe is democratic in nature and is mostly situated on the spurs of the hills. They practice spirit-based religions. Apart from these, there are Buddhist monasteries built all around Arunachal. There are several pagodas including the Golden Pagoda which is a famous Buddhist monastery. You can meditate on yourself or interact with the young and old monks to learn about their ways of life.
The silence is out of the world - Growing up and working in cities has us accustomed to loud sounds and noise. But Eastern Arunachal has some of the places where you could hear even a pin drop - literally. Arunachal Pradesh is one of India’s largest states with one of the smallest populations, and so there is ample room to relax and breathe! You can literally sit down at any place and start meditating.
The hospitality of the people - Everyone will greet and treat you like family. They will tell stories about themselves and their forefathers. They will discuss the culture of their tribes and their rituals. You will have the most amazing momos, thukpas, cheese bites/gums, then thuk, yak cheese curry, Himalayan spinach, steamed bread, etc. Every kind of food is the yummiest and will make you yearn for more.
The natural beauty - At every bend, you will find something jaw-dropping! Whether it is the tallest snow-clad mountains reaching the skies, waterfalls, rivers with crystal-clear water, bamboo and cane bridges, small farm towns, shepherds grazing with their yaks, or yaks enjoying their time in the sun - everything is so pure, fresh, that you will love to stay forever at this place.
