The day tour to Aiguille du Midi, Montenvers and the Mer de Glace is a great way to discover the Alps without going on a climbing expedition. You will be able to admire incredible scenery while enjoying French cuisine, and will be back to Chamonix by evening.
This day tour is accessible to all fitness levels, as there is no hiking required. The access to the Ice Cave, however, requires climbing 400+ steps and is not adapted for individuals with limited mobility – so that’s something to keep in mind. Ticket prices for the Aiguille du Midi cost 65 euros round-trip per adult at the time of writing this article, and tickets to the Mer de Glace cost 34 euros. Family passes are available for both, so take a look at them if you decide to go without a tour. Finally, while most people travel to Chamonix during summer, the temperatures at the top can become very chilly so do not forget to bring something warm to cover yourself with.
