Ski touring takes place on off-piste tracks, and, therefore, presents higher chances of hazards such as avalanches or crevasses. In addition, while some trails are signposted, this is not the case on all routes. For these reasons, you should always hire a local mountain guide to guide you through the mountains and ensure your safety. Finally, carrying avalanche safety gear and equipment at all times is a requirement.
