Due to its almost perfect pyramidal shape, the Matterhorn is on many climbers’ bucket list. Suitable for intermediate and advanced climbers, the expedition will challenge you technically while taking you through the incredible scenery of the Alps and the Zermatt region.
The climbing season for the Matterhorn is between late June to mid-September, so make sure to be in excellent physical condition by then in order to tackle 8-9 hours a day of climbing and hiking carrying your equipment while being at high altitude. From a technical perspective, the peak can be summited by climbers with intermediate experience, with strong cramponing skills on snow, icy and mixed terrains. Equipment plays an essential part in the success of your expedition, so make sure to bring gear and clothing adapted to the variable weather conditions. And, of course, as with all expeditions, make sure to have a suitable insurance covering climbing above 3000m.
