Whether you want an introduction to the mountaineering world, or are looking to acclimatize before a higher climb, the Pisco mountain climbing in Peru is for you. While being a moderately difficult climb, Nevado Pisco will offer you splendid views over some of the highest peaks of the Cordillera and the feeling of accomplishment that comes with summiting a 5752m high peak.
Even though the Pisco circuit does not require technical mountaineering knowledge, it requires climbers to be in great physical condition. In addition to the high altitude, the last 800m of the climb are glacial and the weather conditions are constantly changing; therefore, you will require a guide to ensure your safety. Do not attempt the climb on your own if you do not have significant experience with glacier travel, and don’t forget to get official permission from park officials if you are climbing solo.
