As the highest mountain in Western Europe and the birthplace of modern mountaineering, the Mont Blanc is a must for any climbing aficionado. It offers intermediate and expert climbers a great technical challenge, as well as a scenery right out of your wildest dreams.
If you want to climb the Mont Blanc, you will have to book your trip in the Alps between late May to late September. While waiting for the season to start, make sure to train appropriately for your summit attempt as in addition to technical skills, you will need an impeccable fitness condition. Finally, if you are an advanced to expert climber and wish to take it on solo, be aware that you are required to book a spot in the mountain huts well in advance.
