This day starts with a three hour trek up through the pine forest till Trunkhol via Butshree Top which is at an altitude of 3200m and 0pens onto a beautiful meadow Trunkhol Meadow (3400m). We camp at Trunkhol meadow that cosily sits in the forest beside a bakerwal house made of mud and logs. The place is serene and gives the view of surrounding think mountains of pine.

This day we start with a mild trek that winds further into the Gangabal Valley. First, we get to see a calm and fascinating Nundkol Lake just at the hem of Mount Harmukh. We see the might Harmukh standing tall in the valley with its glaciers that feed the lake. On the same day we trek for a short distance to see the eternal beautiful Gangabal Lake (3587m). Gangabal Lake is one of the largest alpine lakes in India and the biggest in Kashmir. The lake is abound with trout fish having varied colours and taste. We see the summit route of Harmukh this day.

A. Booking Terms
1. If booked more than 15 days before the trip start date, advance of 10% of the total booking value is payable at the time of booking. Balance amount shall be paid no later than 15 days before the trip start date.
2. If booked less than 15 days prior to the trip start date, the full booking value is due at the time of booking.
3. If the due amounts are not paid as per the payment schedule, bookings shall stand cancelled.
B. Cancellation Policy
1. If cancelled more than 15 days before the trip start date, the advance shall be refunded net of a 5% transaction fee.
2. If cancelled after full payment between 15 to 10 days before the trip start date, 25% cancellation fee of the total booking value.
3. If cancelled less than 10 days prior to the trip start date, the booking amount shall not be refundable.

Yes. Gangabal Lake Trek can be done by beginners and expert trekkers alike. It is a moderate-level trek that has a well-established trail. The altitude also remains close to 4000 meters and does not increase or decrease drastically. With an experienced guide or a trek leader, amateurs can complete this trek safely.

The Gangabal Lake is situated in the foothills of Mt. Harmukh in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, north of Srinagar city. The trek starts from Nichinai or Naranag valley.

The best season to trek to the twin alpine lakes of Gangabal and Nundkol is ideally pre-monsoon and post-monsoon. You can embark on the journey between May to July and September to November. Several trekkers visit from November to December for the majestic view of the bouquet of frozen alpine lakes along the trail.
