It is one of the toughest treks in the world where you get to traverse through eleven high altitude passes of over 4,500m and some higher than 5,000m. Further, Bhutan is located in a remote part of the world and you will need to change multiple flights to get in and out of Paro, the country’s only international airport and hub for most adventure activities. All treks in Bhutan require permits, which can be obtained only through a registered Bhutanese travel agency. Point to note: many of the trek routes are closed for Indian and Chinese nationals. Please check with your operator for details.
