Discovery |
Trips that are classified as “Discovery” require you to be at a basic level of fitness and good health. On these trips, you would not be spending more than a couple of hours on your feet or need travel by vehicle or watercraft for more 4-5 hours a day. |
2 |
Easy |
“Easy” trips need you to perform 2-3 hours of activity, possibly in remote areas and undulating terrain and may involve camping. An active lifestyle and a reasonable level of fitness should be good enough for you to enjoy these trips. |
3 |
Introductory |
These are trips for the uninitiated and may involve physical activity such as walking, cycling, rafting etc. for up to 4-5 hours a day. An active lifestyle and a reasonable level of fitness and good health are necessary to participate. |

Moderate |
“Moderate” trips may involve physical activity such as hiking, cycling, rafting etc. for up to 5-6 hours a day. Some previous outdoor experience is advisable but not necessary. An active lifestyle, a reasonably high level of fitness and good health are suggested. May involve camping outdoors and carrying a daypack. |

Intermediate |
“Intermediate” trips may involve physical activity such as hiking, cycling, rafting etc. for up to 5-6 hours a day. Previous outdoor experience is necessary. An active lifestyle, a high level of fitness and good health are required. May require participants to camp outdoors and carry a heavy backpack at altitudes above 12,000 ft (3600 m) and/or sub-freezing temperatures. |

Challenging |
“Challenging” trips may involve physical activity such as hiking, cycling, rafting etc. for up to 7-8 hours a day. Previous outdoor experience is mandatory. An active lifestyle, an excellent level of fitness and good health are required. May require participants to camp outdoors and carry a full back-pack and be comfortable reasonably high altitudes and/or sub-freezing temperatures, adverse weather conditions and locations where evacuation may be difficult. |

Advanced |
“Advanced” level trips qualify as full-fledged expeditions. Prior experience is a mandatory requirement. They would need advanced level of skills in the primary activity and would entail setting up of camps, cooking and campcraft above altitudes of 5000 meters. Mountaineering expeditions would also need “technical” climbing. Rafting/kayaking would need advance level skills and cycling would involve negotiating steep off-road sections. This kind of trip would require participants to be in the outdoors for at least a couple of weeks at remote locations of where evacuation may be difficult. |
